John Henshall, LSCSW
John earned his Master of Social Work from Newman University and completed advanced training with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, where he developed a strong foundation in holistic, mind-body approaches. Over the years, he has also developed and led mindfulness programs for veterans, first responders, and community groups.
John has over 20 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate trauma, PTSD, and some of life’s more complex challenges. His background includes case management, individual and group therapy, and addiction counseling, allowing him to take a practical, well-rounded approach to therapy.
John works with people experiencing trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as the families who support them. His approach blends evidence-based practices with mindfulness and meditation, helping clients build resilience, manage stress, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Clients often describe John as steady, approachable, and easy to talk to. He aims to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they work through whatever brings them to therapy.
Outside of work, John has been married for 30 years and has two daughters. He enjoys fishing, kayaking, listening to music, and spending time at home with his two dogs—and his wife’s two cats, which he has learned to tolerate.
