Kevin Stansbury, LMSW
Kevin is a compassionate and experienced therapist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 20 years. He received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas in 2014 and is currently working towards his clinical licensure.
Kevin has worked in a variety of settings, including child and adolescent psychiatric hospitals, child welfare/foster care, behavior modification classrooms, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment, and corrections both in jail and prison settings.
Kevin is proficient in a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, reactive-attachment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit disorder, lower functioning individuals, autism, substance abuse, trauma, suicidal ideation, and prevention. He uses humor, empathy, and kindness to gain trust and rapport with clients, which allows them to effectively engage in treatment and reach their goals.
Kevin is a parent of four and understands the challenges that come along with raising children. He will help parents and children work through difficult situations with the goal of strengthening their relationship during the process.
Kevin is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and is trauma informed. He uses a strengths-based approach in therapy.
